Delta Dental of Illinois is currently recruiting for the following position(s):

Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting in the processing of accounts receivable and billing.  This includes preparing deposits and entering cash into the system for billings, coordination of billing and collection process, journal entries and financial account reviews.


  • Process weekly and monthly billing statements.
  • Billing Functions including billing inquiries, payment reconciliations and payment collection.
  • Provide recommendations for group\individual billing issues.
  • Cash functions including stop payments, voids, forgeries, etc.
  • Complete assigned general ledger journal entries and provide assistance in keying journal entries into the general ledger.
  • Accurate and timely accounts receivable application.
  • Assist with unclaimed property processing, W-9 mailing & 1099 preparation.
  • Adhoc Reporting for Groups & Individuals


  • Satisfactory completion of college level Accounting principles or equivalent work experience using basic accounting principles. 
  • One to 2 years of experience in a related position or industry.
  • Excellent skills using Microsoft Excel. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Quality Assurance Auditor

The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for conducting quality assurance audits on internal departments that enable DDIL to meet corporate quality objectives; makes recommendations to improve the quality of the work performed.


  • Accurately and efficiently complete a range of Quality Assurance audits, including, but not limited to: Paid Claims, Claim Entry, Eligibility Maintenance, Group Maintenance, Contracts, Claim Adjustments and Client Service Calls.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all audit reports within established time frames.
  • Identify and report audit/error trends and recommend ideas for process improvement to the department managers.
  • Provide claims testing, preimplementation and external client group audit support upon request; meeting all requirements for the appropriate audit methodology, sample size calculation, random sampling, stratification and client reporting.
  • Provide claims testing for new products and system enhancements.


  • An understanding of claims processing, administration, and reimbursement preferred.
  • Basic dental industry and insurance industry knowledge preferred.
  • Must be detail-minded, results oriented and have an aptitude for numeric analysis.
  • Should have an understanding of setting up an audit, sampling, and the statistical reporting of results.
  • Must have working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word, but intermediate skills level in MS-Excel preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
