Change Healthcare (CHC), one of the nation’s largest healthcare technology companies and claims clearinghouses, is responding to a cybersecurity incident. CHC is the vendor Delta Dental of Illinois previously used to print and mail EOPs and checks. To ensure expedited dentist payment, our interim solution for printing checks and EOPs required us to engage two separate vendors — which resulted in checks and EOPs being mailed separately.

We have good news! Printed EOPs and checks are now being mailed together again. If you receive printed EOPs and checks, you will receive both in this month’s mailing, which is being mailed out this week, so you should receive them by the end of this week or next week.

Delta Dental of Illinois appreciates your patience as we worked to provide a permanent resolution for printed and mailed Explanation of Payments (EOPs) and checks in the wake of the Change Healthcare (CHC) cybersecurity incident in February. 

CHC is the vendor Delta Dental of Illinois previously used to print and mail EOPs and checks. To ensure expedited dentist payment, our interim solution for printing checks and EOPs required us to engage two separate vendors — which resulted in checks and EOPs being mailed separately.

We are pleased to be able to provide printed EOPs and checks in one mailing again. As a reminder, all claim documents are available online through our dentist portal — going paperless with direct deposit remains the best method for quick payment and EOPs.

Frequently Asked Questions

• How do I access EOPs online?

  For easy access, you can find EOPs online via our dentist connection. Navigate to the "Claims Payments" tab and choose "Explanation of Payment" to view your bulk EOPs. Refer to our guide for further details.

• I've followed the instructions, but can't access EOPs online. Why?

  Offices that receive direct deposit via electronic funds transfer (EFT) can view their statements online as of the direct deposit enrollment date. Offices not enrolled in direct deposit can view their statements online for checks starting 2/28/2024. If your office receives both direct deposit and paper checks (e.g. for different practice locations), your direct deposit EOPs will continue to be available in the portal. However, your EOPs for paper checks will not be available in the portal and be mailed to you.

• How can I access claim status?

  Claims status and Explanation of Payment (EOP) are available on our dentist connection. Login or register for the dentist connection today.

• How can I submit claims electronically?

  You can save time and reduce costs with electronic claims submission.
